• 西関の魅力に隠された、繊細な隠れ家

  今回の広州旅行の目的は、西関古城のグルメと古建築を堪能することでした。最終的にこのホテル（Xana Deluxe Hotel Guangzhou Xiguan Yongqingfang Zhongshan 8th Road Metro Station Branch）を選んだのは、当初は永清坊へのアクセスが良いという点に惹かれたからです。しかし、実際に宿泊してみると、このホテルは「フレンチシック」と西関古城のゆったりとした雰囲気が見事に融合しており、私の期待をはるかに超える素晴らしい滞在となりました。
  チェックインした瞬間から、好印象が広がりました。フロントの対応は事務的すぎず、渡されたルームキーケースには永清坊のランドマークを手描きしたイラストがプリントされていました。さらに、冷たい広東梅ジュースの小瓶までサービスで用意してくれていました。30度を超える西関の路地を散策して戻ってきたばかりだったので、一口飲むとたちまち涼しくなりました。旧市街を散策するために滞在していることを知っていたスタッフは、親切にもより静かな高層階の部屋にアップグレードしてくれました。さらに、部屋には無料のスチームアイマスクと、眠りを誘う香りの良いティースプーンが用意されていることを丁寧に教えてくれました。長い観光の後のリラックスに最適です。
  部屋に入った瞬間の第一印象は、「リラックスと洗練」でした。温かみのあるクリーム色の白を基調とした内装に、淡いゴールドのアクセントが効いており、従来のビジネスホテルの堅苦しさは全く感じられません。寝具も嬉しい驚きでした。マットレスは柔らかすぎず、硬すぎず、まさに理想的な硬さでした。ふかふかの羽毛枕と相まって、12時間かけて古い路地を歩き回った疲れと痛みは、あっという間に消え去りました。清潔さにも特に注目しました。シーツはシミ一つなく、毛玉も一つもありませんでした。窓際の小さなコーヒーテーブルの隙間までピカピカで、ホテルがメンテナンスに細心の注意を払っていることがよく分かりました。
